Meet Peanut, a little bundle of love with a big personality and an even bigger desire to be part of everything you do! This sweet, curious girl is affectionate, playful, and smart, with a talent for snuggling that could put a professional cuddle champion to shame. At the end of a busy day, her favourite place to be is curled up in your arms, and she wouldn’t mind if you made that a nightly tradition! Peanut loves people, enjoys meeting new friends, and is always ready for an adventure. She has plenty of energy and enthusiasm, which often comes out as jumping on everyone she meets. She’s learning quickly, but excitement sometimes wins over listening, so she’ll need a family committed to positive reinforcement, basic training, and helping her learn polite greetings and impulse control. She generally walks well on leash, with some pulling and distractions when something catches her eye. Peanut has lived with another dog and absolutely loves canine company, but her enthusiastic, nonstop play style can overwhelm dogs who prefer a quieter life. A well-matched, playful canine companion could be a great fit, with proper introductions and supervision. She’s much more comfortable when another dog is around, as she struggles with being left completely alone and may bark, howl, or become distressed. A home where someone is around much of the time, or a family willing to patiently build her confidence with alone time, would be ideal. Cats and her compatibility with children haven’t been assessed, so careful introductions and appropriate supervision would be important. Peanut is still working on housetraining and uses a pee pad much of the time, though accidents can happen, especially if she’s left too long or feeling unwell. She prefers grazing throughout the day rather than eating all her food at once, has shown no resource guarding, and absolutely adores her stuffies and toys. She also enjoys car rides once she settles in, especially with a little breeze through the window, though fireworks can make her jumpy. Peanut is looking for a loving, patient home that will embrace her affectionate nature while helping her learn to manage all that wonderful enthusiasm. In return, you’ll get a loyal little shadow, endless cuddles, plenty of laughs, and a companion who believes personal space is highly overrated.
