A Rough Start Celeste's life began as a street dog, surviving on the streets before being trapped by the Lancaster shelter. Due to her fearful nature and heartworm positive status, she faced the risk of euthanasia. Fortunately, a kind-hearted person named Liz saw beyond Celeste's fear and decided to rescue her. After undergoing a year-long treatment program, Celeste is now heartworm negative and healthier than ever. Current Temperament While Celeste has overcome many challenges, she remains timid around large groups of strangers. Her past experiences on the streets, where she was often shooed away, have left her cautious. Despite this, Celeste has made remarkable progress in her rehabilitation. She has learned to crate well, walks beautifully on a leash, and knows to potty outside. Ideal Home Celeste is good with most other dogs but would thrive best in a home without small children, as their energy might be overwhelming for her. She is a sweet and gentle soul who is easily startled, so a calm and patient environment would be ideal. With the right family, Celeste is ready to shower them with affection and loyalty.
