Meet this special 8-year-old gentleman named Cyrus, who may have lost his hearing and eyesight, but certainly hasn't lost his ability to find his way straight into your heart! Hero Rescue saved this little after unfortunately he had enduring more than any dog should have to and now living with permanent damage to his eyes and ears from neglect of former owners, he's ready for the next chapter of his life — one filled with sunshine, cozy naps, gentle affection, and a family who will show him just how wonderful life can be and that he will always be loved. Because he relies heavily on his incredible sense of smell to navigate the world, his ideal forever home would be a calm, predictable environment where he can take his time getting comfortable and learn his surroundings. Gentle touches are important, so a home without young children is recommended. Mature, understanding children who know how to be gentle would be just fine. His favorite activities? Long, cozy naps snuggled up with his favorite human, soaking up the sunshine, and enjoying leisurely walks. He'd also love a securely fenced yard with relatively flat, stable ground where he can safely explore and enjoy a little outdoor frolicking! A few more reasons to fall in love: ?? This boy has been through a lot, but somehow his heart is still full of love to give. He doesn't need a big, busy world or extravagant adventures. He just needs someone willing to meet him where he is, offer a little patience, and let him enjoy life's simple pleasures. His past may have been difficult, but his future can be beautiful. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption.
