KEVIN ~~ Doodle/Poodle Mix, Neutered Male, Black, DOB: 2/24/2024, 34 pounds Meet the ultimate shadow with a built-in bounce! This sleek, ebony-coated boy is a high-energy doodle who treats every single day like he just won the lottery. He is equal parts athletic superstar and professional cuddle buddy. Kevin loves the company of people and will seek you out to see what you’re up to. He may enjoy the company of another canine buddy as well. A LITTLE ABOUT ME: Kevin loves going for car rides and would make a great buddy for hikes, walks, any type of adventure! He is up for anything and just wants to be by your side. Food motivated. Will automatically sit down for treats. Kevin eats very quickly so we recommend a slow feeder for now. ENERGY LEVEL: Very high energy boy and will benefit from daily long or multiple walks and playtimes. Also, a fenced backyard would be beneficial for Kevin to run around in and burn some of his energy. Loves to run around and chase the ball. CRATE TRAINED? Doesn't like the crate. Will bark. Will eventually settle down but takes a little while. He can be coaxed into the crate with a treat. THINGS TO WORK ON: *MOUTHY: Kevin is mouthy and sometimes nips at ankles. A good distraction is a toy or bone to chew. Probably a treat finder toy would be good for mental stimulation. Loves a KONG with peanut butter inside. *CHEWER: Kevin is very inquisitive and curious with his mouth – tends to find inappropriate things to chew on that don’t belong to him (cords, purses), so until he learns the house rules, keep things out of his reach. Tough chew toys are best rather than stuffed toys (he will destroy). * JUMPING ON PEOPLE: Kevin is learning not to jump up on people to greet them. This has proven to be a challenge, but he is very smart and will learn from repetition and training. OTHER PETS, KIDS? Kevin has done well with other dogs and has not shown any aggression towards them. He can be a little mouthy ~~ putting his mouth on their legs and ears. Not sure how he is with cats or children as he hasn’t been around them. He enjoys going for walks. On walks, he is curious about other dogs and well-behaved with them. Kevin has never shown aggression toward people, dogs, food, or toys. Maybe no small children, as he tends to jump up in excitement. If you have other dogs, we will require a meeting prior to adoption to ensure a smooth transition into a new environment. MEDICAL AND OTHER DETAILS: Kevin has hip dysplasia and takes a daily dose of Omega 3 and a joint supplement. Takes them perfectly in pill pockets and should remain on them for life. He skips sometimes and sways his hips. but runs and plays just fine. He has also been taking Trazadone while acclimating to a new environment to help calm him. Kevin is already microchipped, up to date on vaccines and vet services. His adoption fee is $155. Kevin will come home with a month of heartworm, flea-tick prevention as part of his adoption package.
