Ember is a cute young female Terrier/Black Labrador Retriever mix (perhaps one-year old) who was brought to the HSOV on September 20th 2026 by Good Samaritans who found her on Third Street in Lowell Ohio on a rainy day in the mid-Ohio Valley. Ember was not wearing a collar, and she was not microchipped. This little sweetheart has a black coat with white markings on her chest/neck, a long tail, and an adorable face with expressive brown eyes, a tiny slender muzzle, and large floppy ears. Ember has the cutest underbite which gives her a unique appearance. Ember has a sweet disposition and a rather shy/demure personality. She wants attention and to be loved, but takes her a few minutes to warm up to new people (and we understand completely Ember .. It's ok to be cautious and not rush into a relationship) (smile). These photos of Ember were taken late in the afternoon on September 20th when there a break in the weather and the rain had stopped. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Jennie Sherrard for accompanying Ember for her glamour pictures and offering moral support/courage to this sweet girl. Ember had not yet stepped on the scales for a weigh in, but she likely weighs 30-35 lbs or so. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Ember will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that her family will have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership.
