Bahama Mama is a handsome 2-year old male (possible) American Staffordshire Terrier mix who was brought to the HSOV on July 30th 2026 by a Good Samaritan who found him at the Lane Farm Campground (State Route 26 near Marietta Ohio). Bahama was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped. His photo was posted on our HSOV Facebook pages late in the evening on July 30th since we were hoping that his owner or someone else would recognize him. This gorgeous guy has a tan coat with a patch of white on his chest, a long tail, and a chubby face with brown eyes, a liver-colored nose, a dusting of white on his muzzle, a narrow white stripe on his forehead, and short floppy/semi-erect ears. These photos of Bahama Mama were taken on the afternoon of August 2nd 2026 when HSOV Kennel Tech Avah Day accompanied him for his Petfinder/Facebook/Adoptapet publicity pictures. Bahama Mama was very interested in watching the outdoor shelter mascot kitties who were nearby but he didn't reveal his true feelings (or his intentions) about feline friends to us. Bahama Mama is a big boy who weighs 83 lbs and is strong on a leash. Avah is great with all of our HSOV dogs and expertly matched Bahama Mama's strength. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Bahama Mama was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership. Sadly, nobody has called or came looking for this magnificent dog.
