After 11 long years of living outside, Sally is finally safe indoors. When her owner went into assisted living, her family surrendered her saying they were afraid snakes were going to get her. We could not let that happen. Sally came in with a mass on her back and unexplained hair loss. She has had the mass removed and also had a hernia repair while she was at it. She is recovering very well but will require a fashionable wardrobe to keep warm and dry, since her fur is scarce. Her vision and hearing seem fine, and she's plenty mobile. She's happy to go for walks or sniff around in the yard. She can do a few stairs but feels that walking an entire staircase is not ladylike. Sally is good on the leash and in the car. She sleeps well through the night and is doing very well with her housetraining, although it never hurts to make potty pads available in case of emergency. Her hobbies include gnawing on veggie chew treats, keeping a suspiciously close eye on hooman dinner, running laps ON the bed, and distributing kisses whether you like them or not. She loves attention and has no intention of being overlooked ever again. In her new home, she would like to get plenty of pets and snuggles, have another dog to pal around with, and go on fun adventures. And NO SNAKES! She likes being near her people and will watch them closely. If you put something small down at her level, she may steal it away and keep it as a memento. Sally is approximately 11 years old and 11 lbs. Fostered in Severn, MD. Please apply at MirisHaven.org.
