About Mira

?? Name: Mira ?? Gender: Female ?? Age: Estimated 2 years old (Born in January 2024) ?? Weight: 14.4 kg / 31.8 lbs ?? Adogs Instagram (KR): @adogs 1? Medical History * Spayed. * Microchipped and heartworm negative. 2? Rescue Story Mira was waiting for a family at the Cheongju Shelter. As time passed, no adopters stepped forward to open their home to her. Unable to leave Mira facing the threat of euthanasia, Adogs stepped in urgently to rescue her. 3? Personality & Characteristics * With Humans: She’s very shy and will avoid strangers even if they have treats. She licks the hands of familiar handlers, though direct physical handling still feels a bit overwhelming for her. She follows people around enthusiastically when treats are involved! * With Dogs: She shows great interest in unfamiliar dog friends. Once she gets comfortable, she actively plays, zooms around, and initiates playful interaction with them. * With Cats: Caution is required during walks, as she has shown a tendency to attempt to chase cats seen near the play yard. She barks at them but it’s not severe. * Separation Anxiety: Since she is currently living in a group setting at the center, her individual anxiety levels are unknown. Structured independence training may be needed from day one in a home environment. * Potty Training: She currently handles her business outdoors at the center, though she also goes potty in her kennel area. A new routine and retraining may be needed upon moving into a home. * Grooming: She’s very fearful so she’s uncomfortable when being brushed. * Walking: Because she is fearful, she sometimes digs her feet in and hesitates to move. Her handler will need to wait patiently and match her pacing. She runs away when being leashed. * Motion Sickness: She showed signs of car sickness and vomited during long-distance travel. * Biting: She once snapped defensively out of panic and pain when a handler tried to free her foot after it got caught in a kennel gap. She has shown zero biting tendencies since, but she may react defensively if startled or panicked. * Barking: She sometimes barks during meal or treat times to ask for food quickly, so training her to wait calmly will be helpful. * Personality & Tendencies: She needs time to adapt to unfamiliar environments as she finds them awkward at first. While she feels uncomfortable with sudden touch or being cornered into tight spaces, she has a lively personality who loves running around and playing energetically with fellow dog friends!
