1. Health Condition
* Spayed.
* Microchipped, heartworm negative upon retest after treatment, and dental scaling completed.
* Was treated for high intraocular pressure and inflammation in her right eye. Although the inflammation is under control, cloudiness remains. Will require lifelong management with one type of eye drop due to low eye pressure.
* Had a refractory corneal ulceration in her left eye, so she underwent a SCEED procedure. The corneal ulcer has healed and the corneal epithelial cells have improved. However, because the previously damaged endothelial cells will not recover, blisters will always be present. Therefore, eye drops called "Muro" must be administered lifelong to manage these blisters.
* Her hind legs have malformed due to living in a metal cage with holes underneath for a long time. As a result, she was diagnosed with a grade 2 luxating patella on her right hind leg. It hasn’t caused her much discomfort, but she needs weight management.
2. Rescue Story
* Mikko was found at the Gimje City Shelter with a neck wound. She was urgently rescued because remaining at the shelter in such condition could have put her life at risk.
3. Basic Information
* With People: Is a bit shy at first and tends to observe from a distance, but remains curious. As long as people don't try to touch her right away, she doesn't avoid them. Once she gets familiar with someone, she wags her tail and acts cute to ask for pets! Is very affectionate—even toward strangers—if they show her goodwill, but she won't really approach people who don't show interest in her.
* With Dogs: Gets along well with doogy friends, so we don’t think she would have any problems living with other dogs. Doesn’t react even if the other dog is barking aggressively.
* With Cats: Isn’t particularly interested in cats.
* Separation Anxiety: Doesn't have separation anxiety and warmly welcomes her caregiver with a wagging tail when s/he returns.
* Potty Training: While she may have accidents in new places, once familiar, she goes both indoors and outdoors well. Pees frequently when outdoors, as if marking with her urine.
* Grooming: Is very gentle and cooperative during baths, blow-drying, and ear cleaning. When it's time for eye drops, she willingly lifts her face up. Is also extremely cooperative when her facial hair is being trimmed, so she will likely do great with full grooming sessions. As for nail trims, she gets them done whenever she visits the vet and stays super calm throughout.
* Walks: Does well, keeping pace with her caregiver. Only pulls on the leash a little when she wants to sniff something. Has had consistent recall training, so she reliably comes when called.
* Car Sickness: Used to get severe car sickness, but overcame it through consistent training! Before getting in the car, if you place her kennel on the floor and open the door, she recognizes it's time for a walk and steps right inside. The kennel then gets loaded into the car, and as long as she gets a short break at a rest stop along the way, she handles 2–3 hour rides with ease. Currently, travels either on an empty stomach or after having a small Churu treat.
* Biting: Sometimes uses her mouth playfully (lightly nibbling). While she might try to hold onto food in her mouth and not give it up, she does not show any aggressive biting behavior.
* Barking: May bark at sudden noises at the front door.
* Likes: Likes walking on the grass, so be careful of ticks. Likes eating and is food-motivated, so she is very trainable.
* Dislikes: Is scared of loud and sudden noises, like lightning and thunder. Doesn’t prefer being held, and is still a bit uncomfortable with car rides.
* Tricks: Has mastered ‘sit,’ ‘paw,’ ‘house,’ and ‘wait.’ Can handle short periods of "pet parking" outside stores. Even when her foster parent is out of sight, she doesn't get anxious and will wait calmly.
* Personality: Is a calm and docile dog. Has a stable personality and doesn’t react even when children approach or other dogs bark at her. Has a high tolerance for new experiences. When she wants attention, she’ll come and rub her body around you or lightly scratch you with her front paw. She would do very well with a family that has a regular routine.
