About Kuma

?Currently located in South Korea?? ??Available to fly to U.S. and Canada?? ?? Name: Kuma ?? Gender: Male ?? Age: Estimated 2 years old (Born April 2024) ?? Weight: 11.7 kg / 25.8 lbs ?? ADOGS Instagram (KR): @_adogs_ 1. Medical History * Neutered * Microchipped and heartworm retest scheduled for December 2026 2. Rescue Story * Kuma was living at the Gimje Shelter. Because the shelter environment was vulnerable to infectious diseases, Adogs could not leave him behind and stepped in urgently to rescue him. 3. Personality & Characteristics * With Humans: Is timid and easily frightened by strangers. Around familiar people, he will smile happily and approach first; however, he is still not used to physical touch and tends to flinch and freeze when petted. * With Dogs: Coexists peacefully without showing much interest in other dogs. Has never shown aggression toward dog friends. * With Cats: Has not yet been introduced to cats. * Separation Anxiety: Since he is currently living in a group setting at the center, his individual anxiety levels are unknown. Structured independence training will be needed from day one in a home environment. * Potty Training: Currently uses both indoor and outdoor potty setups at the center. Does not show leg-lifting marking behavior. * Grooming: Dislikes being brushed, but if done inside the kennel, he patiently stays still and tolerates it. * Leash Walking: Is afraid of putting on a leash, so when clipping the leash, he freezes up and digs his heels in, refusing to go out. Ongoing desensitization training is required. * Motion Sickness: Showed no signs of car sickness during short-distance rides. * Biting: When he first arrived at the center, he showed defensive snapping/biting when sudden touch was attempted. While he has improved significantly and no longer shows biting behavior, caution is required if the environment changes. * Barking: Has shown no barking or whining behavior. Guidance and training may be needed once he transitions into a home setting. * Personality & Temperament: Is cautious and shy. Although he approaches people first out of curiosity, he gets scared and backs away when you actually reach out to touch him. Is slowly building trust over time at the center, showing steady and constant progress.
