1. Medical History
* Spayed.
* Microchipped and heartworm negative.
2. Rescue Story
Haram was living at the Cheongju Shelter. No matter how long she waited, no family came forward to adopt her, and after a long wait, her name was ultimately placed on the euthanasia list. Thanks to a volunteer who dramatically discovered her situation, ADOGS was able to step in and rescue her.
3. Personality & Characteristics
* With Humans: While her shyness has improved significantly compared to before, she remains cautious around strangers and keeps a gentle distance. However, around familiar people, she approaches first with a wagging tail and comfortably accepts touch around her face and mouth. While she still finds intense physical affection uncomfortable, touch on her paws and hindquarters is possible inside her kennel space.
* With Dogs: She shows interest in unfamiliar dogs and actively approaches them. Even when another dog approached her enthusiastically, she accepted it well and played along nicely. While she previously showed a tendency to press down on dogs smaller than herself from above, she currently coexists smoothly with other dog friends. She is best friends with #AdogsHanggu.
* With Cats: Extra caution is required as she tends to chase and watch cats when she spots them.
* Separation Anxiety: Since she is currently living in a group setting at the shelter, her individual anxiety levels are unknown. Independence training may be necessary upon moving into a home environment.
* Potty Training: She currently uses both indoor and outdoor potty setups. A fresh routine and retraining may be needed in a home environment.
* Grooming & Hygiene: She flinches and feels scared during brushing and nail trims, but she stays patient and tolerates them well. When being wiped down with wet wipes or having topical preventive medication applied, she froze quietly out of fear.
* Leash Walking: She tries to avoid being leashed, but you can leash her if you corner her. After about five minutes, she gets used to it and follows her handler well. Since walks are still unfamiliar to her, she tends to put her tail in between her legs when outside, but she will still sniff and proactively walk to where she wants to go.
* Motion Sickness: While fear caused her to have an accidental bowel movement inside her kennel during transport, she displayed no other car sickness symptoms.
* Biting: She has never shown biting tendencies toward humans, though she once exhibited behavior resembling mouthing when play with another dog became overly rough. That was the only time it happened and now she stays calm even when other dogs fight in front of her.
* Barking: She barks defensively when she sees people passing outside from the play yard. However, she does not bark when people are inside the same space or toward familiar staff members.
* Personality & Tendencies: She is timid and fearful, needing time to build trust gradually. Touch from strangers frightens her, and she feels anxious when cornered into tight spaces. Though cautious and quiet at first, she reveals a bright, delightful charm once she settles in!
